Liberation for All Minoritized People! Join us in celebrating Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, July 2018.
July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in the U.S. During this month, the Social Justice Caucus will feature art therapists who work in the name of social justice and liberation for people whose identities are minoritized by oppressive cultural systems.
In light of recent oppressive United States policies on immigration, healthcare, and the erosion of protections against discrimination and exploitation in the national economy, as well as a trend toward fascist governmental practices internationally, the Social Justice Caucus believes it is essential that art therapists hold true to our ethical obligations by advocating for the rights and well-being of all humans.
If you are an art therapist whose work focuses on social justice and would like to be featured this month, or if you would like to nominate an art therapist you know, please send photos and a description of your work to socialjusticearttherapy@gmail.com.
